ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR HARD TO HANDLE WASTES INCLUDING: 

Asbestos - all asbestos wastes must be pre-approved.  They must be packaged and labelled as per provincial

               guidelines and at least 24 hours notice must be given before delivery to the landfill.                     $100/T

Fence Posts  - Wire must be off and tightly coiled, fee applied to commercial & large quantities (1 tonne +)                        $50.00/T

THE NEWELL REGIONAL LANDFILL REQUIRES SEPARATION OF MATERIALS FOR DISPOSAL AT THE APPROPRIATE LOCATION(S) OR RECYCLING. IMPROPERLY SORTED AND/OR IMPROPERLY DUMPED LOADS ARE SUBJECT TO A PENALTY OF UP TO $250 + ANY EQUIPMENT TIME WILL ALSO BE CHARGED.  IN EXTREME CASES OR WHERE THERE IS A RECURRING PROBLEM THE LOAD MAY BE DENIED ACCESS TO THE LANDFILL.
